new shoes!

I'm not a shoe person. I'm a slippers person. But when it's shoes we're talking about, I'm all for heels and flats with cute prints and designs. Never a fan of any closed shoe, kailangan may bukas. My feet feels claustrophobic whenever I wear closed shoes.

But now there's a need to wear shoes talaga, so i bought.

and i'm in love with the shoes i bought! hahaha

KEDS eyelet shoes

the GOLA + TADO rainbow shoes i've wanted for so long but couldn't find!
FINALLY!!! hahahaha

the next few days for me? The Adventures of Pureza.

5 DAYS TO GO!!!

AIDA Manila by Atlantis

(disclaimer: this is NOT a review. this is a nice stroll along memory lane, with comments on the play on the side)

I HAD TO WATCH AIDA. I JUST HAD TO. Even if I just spent for Archuleta's Patron tickets, I didn't want to miss AIDA. AIDA will always have a special place in my heart; it's the first play I adapted and directed for our English playfest back in highschool. Probably, one of my very first theater experience.
I watched my with my friend, Pinky. She came all the way from Iloilo just to see AIDA! Reminiscing on all the drama that happened back then in 2nd year highschool was inevitable. I mean, ALL. THAT. DRAMA. hahaha! Now that we think about it, it all seemed so funny.

So AIDA by Atlantis was breathtaking!!! I was emotional the whole time and maybe I was biased because AIDA was special to me, but I really really loved the show!

Ima Castro (AIDA) and Myke Salomon (Radames)

A big fan of Myke Salomon since PETA's CAREDIVAS, he did great! as Radames, Aida's lover. Ima Castro (Aida) who was Kim in Miss Saigon Manila, was also perfect for the role. According to this blog, she had to "adjust to a lower vocal register", yes considering the songs were of lower octaves, and did an awesome job. I'm a fan now. Rachel Alejandro, playing Queen Amneris, Radames' betrothed, had an interesting take on the role! Very cute! I'd never thought I'd want to see her on the theater scene, but now I'm a fan too! Hadji Alejandro, her father, was also in the play as Radames' father.

Dance of the Robes

Production-wish, I LOVED IT. I loved everything; costume, set, props, choreography. Sorry, I JUST LOVED IT. (no, i'm not sorry haha)

It was all just emotional for me. Brought back sooo many memories!!! I still never EVERY WORD TO EVERY SONG from the musical, and in almost every scene, Pinky and I would whisper to each other "hey I remember that scene" or "oi we did that!" And I would remember how we rehearsed every line, every step of the choreography, Anabel who didn't like the Strongest Suit dance step she even cried (haha! love you bel!), the drama of having TWO SCRIPTS because Loi and I didn't agree on so many levels HAHA! And changing actors two or three times just because Loi didn't want to get involved. (love and miss you loi!!!)

Pinky and I said that if we had to relive one year of high school, we'd pick 2nd year. (yes senior year was fun, but it was too perfect naman) 2nd year highschool. ALL THE DRAMA!!

We had this contest, AC BECOMING (like MTV Becoming) and did Nsync's music video of POP. I was JC chasez bwaha! We won, so we were chosen to spearhead the batch number for the year level elimination. The other sections didn't want to do POP again, they wanted to do "Do You Remember" by Michael Jackson, but we refused so we said, if we don't do POP we want out. OH DIBA DRAMA. HAHAHAHA.

And Loi, again, (hahaha!) didn't want me to play Laura (for Florante at Laura). If I played Laura, she's not going to play Adolfo and get involved in AIDA. So the director decided to hold another auditions for the role Laura. Some of my classmates auditioned for the role, pero pa joke. In the end, I got the role, ulet. DRAMA! HHAHAHA!!

I miss highschool. :)

Thank you Po!

Gourmet's Tagaytay

The following day, tita Cynch and Msgr. Nonoy brought me to Gourmet's, also in Tagaytay. Very pretty place! And the price is not that bad! They also had buffet (around P600 for the salad bar, 3 choices of pizza, pasta and dessert!) But we didn't get that, too much buffet is just.. well, too much.

I was still sick and was craving for hot hot soup, so I ordered Minestrone soup. I'm not a vegetable fan talaga, but after Sonya's, I think i got that into my system already. And YES, the soup was fantabulous.
oh and please, don't don't don't go home without trying their specialty, Lemongrass shake. SOBRANG SARAP. deliciosoooo!! I usually just get house water, but i'm glad I tried this!!!

was so hungry by then, we forgot to take pictures. I remembered when we were done, and this was what was left of our sumptuous meal.
We had the Refresher's pizza: WINNER! and Fish and Chips.

Then we headed to Refresher's, their little cafe and store to buy dips and dressings and organic stuff.
I bought mixed greens for my Sonya's Salad Dressing and Herb Cheese dip for whatever. Everything here is organic, there's even a "boob lifter" lotion. I don't know how it works aaaand I don't need it. haha!

They serve barako coffee, but wasn't in the mood for one so I got their Lagundi tea instead. As baho as the name sounds, it's actually good. It helps asthma daw. Then had another Lemongrass shake for take out!

Also, very nice and friendly waiters and staff. They make sure you're accommodated and served well. :) GO TO GOURMET's!!!! sooo yummy. Prepare to spend 200-400 per person. :)

Sonya's Garden!

I was still sick, but willingly went all the way to Tagaytay to visit my Tita Cynch. She and Msgr. Nonoy Masculino brought me to Sonya's Garden, my first time. A friend told me "magulay dun!" sooooo.... walang meat?! But it wasn't a problem AT ALL. I LOVED SONYA'S GARDEN!!!

I love how dainty their mantels and napkins were. Reminds me of Pride and Prejudice days. DAYS?! haha

We started with the Salad buffet, which i must say was a winner! I'd usually frown at the sight of this, but when it reached my taste buds, brava.
The dressing, Sonya's secret recipe dressing was the champion talaga. If all dressings tasted like that, I wouldn't have any problems eating a garden. (mixed greens, pineapples, mangos, papayas, nuts, watermelon, cucumber, jackfruit, egg)

now this is what you call BREADWINNER. (HAHAHAHAHA IM SO WITTY!!! HAHA! okay i'm done) I'm not a bread person, but this whole wheat sesame bread was a winner!(BWAHAHAHHAHA) The dips and toppings were also very very delish, my faves were the mushroom pate and the basil pesto. Others include white cheese, anchovies, and bruschetta tomato toppings.

Then we moved on to their award winning pasta with two kinds of sauces: sun dried tomato and chicken cream with mango. I mixed everything on my plate and drowned it with parmesan cheese. (note to restaurants: if you have unlimited parmesan on your table, hide it from me. you'll never see the end of it) Other toppings include ratatouille, salmon belly, shitake mushrooms, black olives and capers.
yummy! by the time i made my white sauce pasta, i was so full already. But was still up for dessert!

I wasn't so excited about the dessert, I'm not a kamote/turon person. Maybe if turon was super hot and they topped it with ice cream? hihi. There was chocolate cake anyway, it was good. and the tea! yes the Taragon (?) tea was nice!

Rose water for your thoughts. chez. We bought a bottle of this. parang all-around spritz siya. smells awesome.

I love Sonya's Garden because it's like entering the Secret Garden. It's like a world far far away from your real world and the nature just soothes you. Parang gusto mong isipin na Sonya's Garden is floating in the skies on a cloud. :)

You can check out Sonya's Garden here; they have other activities like Spa and whatnot. (HAHA MAGAMIT LANG) Also beautiful for weddings, baptism reception, and other events. (this is not a paid blog. maganda lang talaga doon)
