wishlist!

because it's christmas, the only time of the year to be excusably materialistic, here's my wishlist. i try to attain as much as i can. here was my 2008 wishlist. i now have the magic 8 ball, i HAD the dogtag but i lost it in the middle of the year haha, i got the external hard drive instead of an internal one, anything that's carebear well that's taken cared of, and i get cheese all the time. (i got 2 quezo de bolas last year, all to myself. bwaha) i may not have gotten everything i wanted, but that's okay because according to books i've read, we don't really get everything we want. haha

this year, i have a new wishlist! :)
1. Teneues 2010 Audrey Hepburn Planner -- DONE! (i got a different one though)
this is the first thing i'm getting in fullybooked. after weeks of planner hunting, deciding whether i should get the starbucks planner or This Journal Will Actually Change Your Life. And then on ate vir's blog, i saw jose talking about teneues so i decided to check it out in fullybooked. and when i saw audrey hepburn, with pages of george clooney and the like (!!) inside the planner, i knew it was the one.

this is not how the planner looks like, i couldn't find the exact photo of the one i liked. :) but it looks like this, pop art-y kind of cover. :) yeeh! i'm excited. :)

2. Architecture of Happiness by Alain de Botton
preferably THIS COVER. :) i found it on 500 days of summer, and searched for a review/summary online and saw this:
Bestselling author Alain de Botton has written about love, travel, status and how philosophy can console us. Now he turns his attention to one of our most intense but often hidden love affairs: with our houses and their furnishings. He asks: What makes a house truly beautiful? Why are many new houses so ugly? Why do we argue so bitterly about sofas and pictures and can differences of taste ever be satisfactorily resolved? Will minimalism make us happier than ornaments? To answer these questions and many more, de Botton looks at buildings across the world, from medieval wooden huts to modern skyscrapers; he examines sofas and cathedrals, tea sets and office complexes, and teases out a host of often surprising philosophical insights. The Architecture of Happiness will take you on a beguiling tour through the history and psychology of architecture and interior design, and will forever alter your relationship with buildings. It will change the way you look at your current home and help you make the right decisions about your next one.
from here

i'm definitely getting this for someone, but i want a copy for myself too! i remember penny and i having a conversation about architectural psychology, and if there was such a thing. haha. there was, except that it's more popularly known as environmental psychology, and architectural psychology is a branch under it. :) basically, it deals with how structures affect a person's psyche. i don't think it's offered here in the philippines. not even for MA programs in UST or UP. but super interesting. :)

3. slippers.
it's about time that i get myself new slippers. i was never a closed-shoe or a heels girl. iloved the havaianas wonderwoman slippers the moment i saw it. i don't think it's available here though. daddyy!!!!

that's all for now, will update soon!

update!
4. shot glasses
i just woke up this morning and had this crazy idea of making jello shots. no, i won't be drinking forever once i get a hold of these shot glasses. i just want to own a set. update: maybe you can give me a jello shot gift package. hahahaha. wrap it like it's a mass offering or something. HAHA. jello plus vodka and little plastic shot glasses. hihi.
update update!
5. make up!
BAHALA KA! :) hahahahaha. kahit ano! i'm trying to put up (put up!? business ba ito! HAHA) my own make up kit, so please support! (business?! HAHA) last year, i was planning to collect the philosophy lip glosses, but it was a FAIL. i still want them! :)
6. barbie!
dunno why, but i want one. hahaha okay whatever, maybe not the doll, but whatever barbie that i can use. HAHAHAHA.
7. Lisa Frank stuvz.
did i mention this in my last year's wishlist? hahaha. BAHALA KA DIN! hahaha. anything will make me happy. :) :) maybe a purse. because i need a purse. HAHAHA
8. Tequila Rose
HAHA. can i make a tequila rose jello shot? kadiri ba yun? pero mukhang masarap. at sobrang sweet. hihi.
9. Gift Certificate to a SPA or something that will free me from stress. haha
because i get sick when i'm stressed, thus i cannot be in a state of stress. HAHA. stresstabs if you want, but i don't think it works for me. hahaha.

10. Skinfood nail polish
the purple one specifically. but i also want a pink one. as in yung parang TODO PINK. like the picture below. or TODO PURPLE. HAHAHAHAHA.

that's all for now! :)

update 12/20
11. THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

How did i discover this book? I wanted to get THIS DIARY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE because it was a pretty planner last 2009, and i thought it would be prettier this year. but i guess they didn't make one this year because this was all i found. (there's 'this journal will actually change your life' but i don't like it) and nakakatuwa siya!! Jame Say gave me a P300 GC from fullybooked. but i'm still thinking if i want to get the architecture of happiness. :)

I LOVE TWENTY! birthweek!

blogging live from this leong hall talk on climate change. i was late so i really don't know what he's talking about now. and this is 2 hours, so i'm going to make good use of this free time. FREE TIME?! HAHA

NOV9
around 11:30, i was just in the dorm wanting to sleep already, when my good friend virlynn ramirez called me and said "TARA(no pun intended HAHA) salubungin natin birthday mo!" so i said yes, and waited for her at mcdo. then she said, "let's go to kopiroti nalang, i'm craving for a milo dinosaur" i was too, so i said yay. we did a quick stop over at Shell because ate vir wanted to go to the cr. you might already know where this is going. hahah
when we arrived in kopiroti, my friends leinard, kate, paolo and sir jet were waiting for me with this: my birthday eggs, milk&choco toast (fave!) and milo dinosaur!! (fave!)
they said, since i was allergic to eggs, i'll have these eggs forever. HAHA.
paolo's everyday timee
kate's kilig timee
ate vir's party timee
leinard's futuristic timee
sir jet's drunk timee

(lei isn't in the picture because he took it!) thank you friends! that was a funny and surprising birthday! hahaha thank you for our surprise guest, bobby andrews, who was there that night. bwahaha!

nov10
wore this white dress to school that day, and paolo told me "nagpapaka-santa ka ngayon ah" uhm. so yeah, gar kept telling everyone it was my birthday. hahaha. thank you garnet. hahaha. it was a tuesday so my day was pretty much busy. did loadrev to get in a polsci class, arg.
gar and lei surprised me with starbucks' molten cake, banoffee pie & that toffee nut drink. haha
love you leious copernicus!!

love you garnetz!

and then that night we went to QR to drink with some friends! :)

nov11, all i did was finish my loadrev, went to theo class and that's it. haha. i think. can't remember na. fast forward to

nov12.
this is what you get when you don't have the same classes together. sobrang ingay, sobrang madaming kwento, sobrang saya. HAHAHAHA. i love lei and gar! :)
no, this picture wasn't taken during my birthday dinner, this was taken during our spontaneous trip to tagaytay. yung may sakit ako. wooh

i treated them to MoMo, a restaurant in the new eastwood mall. SOBRANG SARAP. please try their parang pesto cheese jalapeno sticks, parang ganon. bsta. i'm a sucker for cheese, i'll eat anything, even jalapeno, basta may cheese! we ordered the slow something beef something, basta may slow. it was masaraaaap! and also the salmon, their salmon is gooood. :) oh and go get their iced tea, saraap. the cherry on top of our dinner was dessert. we ordered this chocnut cake called verona (if i remember it correctly), nagulat kami sa price pero okay lang if you wanna splurge on just a cake, haaha, and the BUBBLEGUM CUPCAKE. my favorite. :) bubblegum icing topped with gummy worms and gummy bears. super cute, super sarap.
mukha akong stressed at may sakit sa picture na yan, don't make pansin nalang. that's the bubblegum cupcake, it's a masaraaap. :)

nov13...
friday the 13th! i slept at around 330am and woke up at 4am for The Manila Forum with guest speaker Hillary Clinton. call time was 4:30 am, and we arrived UST at around 6am. the forum was interesting, we were like wowowee contestants, practicing our cheers and claps and etc. but most of the time i was trying to keep myself AWAKE, holding both my eyes open. hahahah miss minchin (clinton's mignon who looked like miss minchin from princess sarah) saw me doing that and laughed at me. haha. scary.
i was a bit disappointed, especially at MARIA RHESA (this tv reporter from abs-cbn). i have no issues with ust asking more questions than any other school did, that was fine. but this MARIA RHESA ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS. we had delegates on stage which THEY COULD'VE CALLED TO ASK QUESTIONS TO THE MADAME CLINTON. kakairita. to add insult to injury (ohh meh ganon) , the representative from ateneo who asked hillary was Chris Tiu. i don't care if chris wants to ask about sports, PERO KASI SA DINAMIDAMI NG STUDENTS NA PINADALA FROM ATENEO, BAKIT SI CHRIS TIU NA GRADUATE NA!!!!!! Gio Tingson, Ken Abante and a lot more, who were more representative of the PRESENT ateneo population were on stage, and we knew they have prepared questions for the state secretary. TAPOS. WIZ. naiirita lang ako.

GALIT?? GALIT?!?! HAHAHAHHAHAA. but the whole time i was hyper. talking nonstop, etc etc. we watched paranormal activity in ellein's condo, ate corned tuna, and then went to the script reading. haha.

oh and thank you paolo for the pixy sticks. hahah

i love how this week went! :) so far, i'm loving being 20. seriously, i feel like a 13 year old. so playful, so free flowing, so whatever. :) thank you to everyone who greeted! :) thank you to my family and friends. :) weeh!

wanna know how it feels TO BE EATEN ALIVE?!?!?

this fish definitely knows.

Chinese chefs have found a way to fry a fish without even killing it. NAKAKAIYAK. I know we eat fish, BUT THIS IS SICK. FRIGGIN SICK. Watch it.

Makes you think about eating fish noh? (or maybe not.) kasi ako, i wouldn't want to eat something with a face with THIS IMAGE IN MIND. :((

If the fish had something to say, it would definitely go like this:
"PPOOOOHHHTTAAAANNGGG INNNAAAAAA NIIIINNNNNYYYOOOOOO"
while having a hard time breathing his last few breaths. TAPOS PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT HIM PA. GAHD.

Yes, we CAN eat fish. we NORMALLY EAT FISH. It has been that way forever. BUT DO YOU REALLY NEED TO TORTURE A FISH, AND SEE HIM SUFFER LIKE THAT BEFORE YOU FEAST ON HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sakfhmasclfhasujkehsikncfhsdjafhgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'd like to think i'm an animal rights advocate at this moment. no fish has to suffer like that.
LEAVE THE FISH ALONE!!!! (chris crocker is that you. hehe)

i want to be 20.

i want to be 3 and meet my childhood bestfriend/sweetheart just right beside my house.

i want to be 4 and find out about my little sister going to heaven even before i got to meet her.

i want to be 5 and miss my dad while he's off to singapore.

i want to be 6 and take care of my first little baby brother! :)

i want to be 7 and have my very first crush on my male ballet teacher.

i want to be 8 and celebrate my birthday in jollibee, and hate my classmate for crushing on my childhood sweetheart/bestfriend.

i want to be 9 and say goodbye to my friends while i pack all my stuff to move to Iloilo.

i want to be 10 and be the new girl in school who only spoke in English and never in Tagalog or Ilonggo.

i want to be 11 and win 2nd place in the vocal solo pop competition for the song "kapag ako ay nagmahal" by jolina magdangal during our intramurals.

i want to be 12 and say "okay" to this guy who asked me "emelou, will you be my girl?"

i want to be 13 and write, stage and choreograph my very first play entitled "ON ANGELS' WINGS"

i want to be 14 and have my hair curled, then straightened after a week, then rebonded after a few months.

i want to be 15 and be in charge of everyone in the house when my mom and dad were both in the US for about 6 months or more.

i want to be 16 and find out i passed Ateneo! I screamed forever and ever.

i want to be 17 and cry buckets of tears for my very first major heartbreak.

i want to be 18 and realize that things are not what they seem to be.

i want to be 19 and realize. and then realize that my realizations were all twisted. and then have better realizations.

but i want to be 20 and be stronger than ever. :)

TWENTY

taken by my friend krizette at my debut. :)

i have never dreaded the coming of my birthday. i usually feel jittery and giddy days before my birthday. it's been that way forever. but now it's different. i feel more of anxiety than being giddy. i've never hated a number so much. in 2 days i'll be turning 20. i'll no longer be a teen.

being 20 is like, officially not becoming a candidate of juvenile delinquency anymore. pag kasi 18 or 19, people can still say bata pa yan. but when you're 20, it's like you're part of the adult force already. it's like saying 49.99 is cheaper than 50 pesos.

yeah sure i was excited when i turned 18. because when i was 17, eastwood wouldn't let me watch borat or robinsons wouldn't let me watch brokeback mountain when i was 16. and in rustans, i'd have to pretend i was old and mature enough to buy liquor so that they wouldn't ask for my id.

wala lang. i just feel weird that i'm going to be 20. i can't believe my parents' first child is going to turn 20. wala lang, i always had that thought na my parents were only the type of parents who'd take care of little kids. can't imagine them talking to us siblings about stock exchange or careers and stuff.

i know 20 is just the beginning, but. i don't even want to start anything. it. haha. people older than me may say it's nothing compared to how old they are, (i'm thinking about my lolo here okay) but the thing is, i don't want to be older. is it ever possible that no one turns a year older? that my sister will stay 8 forever? that i'll just be 19, and just be 19? (be a vampire perhaps?)

now, i'm feeling that 20 is JUST AN AGE. my mind and heart will always be 13. HAHA no seriously. when i turn 20, the age will be 20, but the timee will still be that 19 year old strong little girl.

on the other hand, speaking about strong. turning 20 makes me feel strong. i feel like i can laugh about the things that happened when i was 19, put it behind me and move on. :)

SEMBREAK!!!

did not feel like sembreak at all, if it weren't for our bora trip and my friends coming over to iloilo!! i was sick all sembreak. i went to my doctor in iloilo, and she gave me 3 anti-histamines to be taken 3 times a day. and now i'm on an ointment regimen. i have to apply it on the infected parts of my body 3x a day. if this is something psychological, THEN THIS IS SOME STRESS.

right when my last paper for this semester was sent, my friends and i decided to go to Tagaytay! With Gar, Carlo, Lei, and Keshia! We met up with Nino (lei's boyfriend) in Laguna na. I was sick then. My eyes were all fluffy and red, and i used up gazillions of tissues that night. haha We stayed at this inn, BWAHA. had drinks and talked all night! :)

Me, Lei & Keshia! on the way to Tagaytay!

Gar, Carlo, Lei & Keshia watching TV, while i was being sick in bed. haha

My mother arrived the next next day, while i was still sick. so she nursed me (NURSED!) back to health by bringing me out to shopping! :) i told her not to mind how messy my room was. and i find her doing this:
my mother cannot stand not being organized, cannot stand a messy place. so she washed all my dirty dishes and fixed my room. huhuhuhu thank you mother. huhuhu.

ENTA PLEVSEM SEMBREAK 2009!
We went to camp explore this time, in Antipolo. :) it was a really really nice resort! (resort??) check out their site www.campexplore.com.ph super sarap ng food. :) SANA I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE SICK DURING PLEVSEM NOH. thank you harald & terri for taking over. :) i had to leave on day 2 of the plevsem because i was sick and my flight to iloilo was early the following day. :)

can you find me?? that's me at the very back part, not having any plans to swim at all. i just sat by the pool.
but they kept on splashing at squirting water at me. sa sobrang inis, i jumped at them. AT THEM sa pool. haha
FAIL.

i'm the one with the pink kumot on the floor. stayed like that until the evening of day2. this time, i got food poisoned. i think. ate something bad before going to plevsem. haha

when i got home in iloilo, i stayed in bed all day for about 2 days because i was sick again. boo.

OCT28-NOV2!
Leinard, Sir Jet, Ate Vir, Kate and I went to BORAAA! :) WOOH WE LOVE BORA. :) Imagine drinking 4 nights straight. bwahaha. Went to Le Soleil de Boracay... where the pitcher was by the straw, and where i danced with WHITEE. :)
SHARK ATTACK. :)

WHITEE in his frisbee jersey and white cap. huhu imy whitee. BWAHAH
as of the moment, i'm hunting him down. They were in bora for BULA's (Beach Ultimate Lovers Association) Asian Championship Beach Ultimate 2009 with reps from all over the world. :) i think the Boracay Dragons won. (so i'm a fan of frisbee now?? HAHA) i searched for the names of the Australian representatives sent for the tournament last oct28-31 and found their names here. i google-imaged each name on that list. but i haven't found him yet. i found a blog by a frisbee player who knew the Australian team, and yes, i asked him. HAHAHAHA still waiting for the reply. JERSEY # 22, i will find you. HAHAHA (so i spent a whole paragraph on whitee. haha)

the next day we went Island HOPING ("island please.... please... islaaand...")!! :) thank you to ate Amy of Sunshine Place for coming with us! :)

and we fed the fish. hahah

The camera ran out of battery na, and i left my charger in the dorm. HAHA so we used my phone to document the next few days of our vacation!! we went to cocomangas that night! :)

menu for the 15 shots in Cocomangas..

we love the java chip shaker!

we took a 5 hour bus ride to Iloilo. watched SAKAL, SAKALI, SAKLOLO, part of SCARFACE, TAKEN and TANGING INA during the entire bus ride. diba. haha. ganon katagal. haha we had dinner at my place, hung out at the La Paz plaza (it was my first time up that monument thingy haha), checked in at Sarabia and then went to BPlace in smallville! :) kung saan napa-English kami ng bonggang bongga. hahaha. then Penny came by to meet my friends! :)

thanks for the desserts step! :)

The following night, we had dinner at Breakthrough! thank you ate vir's dad! :) then went to Flow in smallville. :) we weren't in costumes for their halloween party. felt so op. haha but anyway! Hahaaha. if i were in a costume for this halloween, i'd dress up like this.
i suggested this to the EB for our yearbook photoshoot. a facebook page, with our faces tagged (holding up a back placard) hahahaha.

i love sembreak this year. if there's one thing i learned from this whole vacation, is that..

i'm stronger than i thought i was. :) and i'm okay. i've NEVER BEEN BETTER. :)
