i don't even like skyflakes.

watch first.

"Theater actors are better to work with because they don't complain, you can feed them sky flakes three meals a day, and pay them in cat food basically..."

and then here's an interesting blog about it, including Santos' lead actress Bea Garcia's statement about it here

PETA's (Philippine Educational Theater Association) official statement here

TAG's (Philippine Theater Actors Guild) official statement here

Rafa Santos' apology addressed to Cinemalaya Directors here

aaaand The problem with conyo humor here

From twitter:
"Skyflakes must be loving all this free press their getting from this Rafa Santos character. A new tvc using stage actors would be perfect" - @mannydr

ME?

may sakit ako ngayon kaya tinatamad ako mag-isip kasi madami akong gustong sabihin. when i first saw it, nainis ako. how dare he. but then again baka wala siyang intention to demean theater artists, mali lang nasabi nya talaga. well, what's done is done. nasabi mo na ehhhh. at madami nang galit sayo. game over na.

I hope you like catfood Rafa, mukhang yan ang kakainin mo when you start losing actors, or rather, people to work with in your movies.

The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber

Last Sunday night we watched the 5th show of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in Tanghalan Nicanor Abelardo in CCP. It was breathtaking, it was like listening and watching actual scenes from Webber's musicals. You know how when your life flashes right before your eyes? Well, it's like that. It's like all these great musicals flash right before your eyes and give you snippets of memories from the songs. :)

YAKIMIX!!!

I accompanied my friend Leinard to MOA to literally drop by (no he didn't drop himself all over the place. WALEY haha) a booth. It was still around 5pm but we were already hungry. So we searched the directory and found that there was Yakimix! We got lost pa because the directions the lady gave us were waley, so it took us around 15-20mins to find it. Finally, we got there and listed down our name in the waitlist. Guess what.

Took us 2 HOURS TO WAIT. We didn't give up because we've heard good reviews about the food and we were number 14 on the list, and they were seating number 6 already. There were 44 names on that list, mind you. But the wait wasn't entirely boring. Yes, we heard our tummys growl a lot but we sat in front of the portable aircon and there were fireworks display in between.

7:30p.m. - Finally we were given a table, so giddy and excited to try what everyone's been raving about.
We got the raw stuff first, but we didn't know how to turn the grill on. (sounds like a nice title to a song "turn the grill on" choz) such Yakimix virgins! hahaha
Iron Chef mode.

You can pick from a vast variety of meat in the raw section. VAST kasi there's luncheon meaet and spam. BWAHA. US Beef whatnots and the like. HAHAHA (don't mix it with the cooked stuff!) There's also lots of sauces to choose from.

If there was any kind of food I can eat FOREVER, I'd eat Japanese food. FOREVER.

Yakimix has like 20+ kinds of sushi, I thought I was in heaven. I usually eat 3-4 pcs of sushi to satisfy my craving, but I couldn't go on. I was too full by the time I got to the sushi! So i just ate one of each kind. haha na walang point because there were just too many kinds. hahaha

Oh no I didn't. I did not just eat from 3 separate plates.
(one was for the raw stuff, the other was for the cooked food, and the one in the middle was my eating plate. haha)

Buffets, for me, aren't convincing, (so mahal just to get super full) but in this case, Yakimix is an exception. Ako talaga, I can eat Japanese food forever. Magsawa man ako sa Filipino food, but never for Japanese food! so Yakimix gets 4 stars from me! (WOW KELAN AKO NAGING CREDIBLE FOR STARS! HAHA)
There's also dessert. I got 3 in 1 plus 1. HAHA! and some other desserts that looked nice but tasted even better. haha Alam mo yang egg tart na yan, that big yellow tart there, I thought may cheese (diba it looks like may cheese) or matamis. hindi, lasang itlog talaga siya. para ka lang nag laga ng itlog. hahaha

then we walked all the way home to drop everything we ate. chos!!
Thanks Lei! (LIBRE MO?! HAHA)

Prayer

Lord, please?

or

thank you for whatever you give me. even if wala. :)
i really want it. please? :)

so you've heard, i'm Ms. Return of the Comeback

so yes, i've returned to my work. And I have to correct everyone who thought that I did so just because I didn't have work. If you knew me well, you would know what my number one priority is now. :) and don't worry, this won't affect my work at all.

Besides, I miss my kids. :)

David Archuleta is BACK!!!

okay first, visit this post here

When Archuleta first came to the Philippines (with Cook), I couldn't attend because we held auditions and deliberations that night. I was so depressed, I just wore my David Archuleta shirt that day.

BUT NOW HE'S COMING BACK AND I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS!!!!!! I mean, do you know Archuleta fanatics in this country? (except me) I don't know anyone who is as crazy for him as I am!!!!! Apparently there were because when I called to reserve VIP tickets, there weren't seats beside each other. Vian is coming with me so I needed 2 seats. We got the closest PATRON seats. :)

thank you Ovation Productions for bringing him back!!!!

I'm getting my copy of his book "Chords of Strength"

okay, ako na ang addict. ako na. :)

It has been weeks since our workshop has ended, but the friendship has extended. oh rhyming! HAHA labo! But I have to say that I enjoyed CMT so much, coming to class everyday and learning something new is the best feeling of all. (bee-t-dub [pausoamp] i'm a working girl again!) But then good things have to end. whhyyyy Lord. whyyyy.

during rehearsals. one of our circle time sessions.
(so tinawag kong ring circle time?! haha preschool!? HAHA)

the last time i blogged about CMT, we were about to compose our very own original songs for the showcase. It was a madugo process, but made funner and exciting by our mentors Vincent de Jesus and Upeng-Galang Fernandez. After writing the lyrics (mind you, madaming drafts ito till we came to the final one) and learning the tune, we did awesome choreography care of super galing Sir Jojo Atienza!
